Cellular polypropylene electromechanical properties: exploring the nonlinear region

AbstractMany studies have been conducted in the last decades on cellular polypropylene (Cell-PP) films. Most of them focus on the optimisation of the material for sensor applications. Processed under Gas Diffusion Expansion (GDE), Cell-PP films show high piezoelectric activity and low stiffness/density, properties that make them ideal for sensors. GDE increases the height and decreases […]

Experimental and theoretical investigation of spontaneous and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy of pure and boron-doped carbon nanotubes

AbstractIn this paper, due to the importance and abundant applications of carbon nanotubes doped with boron (CNT/B2O3) in various industries with changes in the electrical, mechanical and chemical properties, mode identification and intensity of the Raman spectra of pure and boron oxide molecule-doped spectra have been performed. The main task in this paper is to […]

Calculation of energy lost by radiation and convection during laser welding of TA6V titanium alloy

AbstractLaser welding is being used more frequently in industrial processes because of its advantages; therefore, energy loss in welding is an important issue during planning and operation. We calculated the energy losses expected during the laser welding of TA6V titanium alloy. We used the heat equation to describe the energy distribution of solid and liquid […]

Growth temperature dependence of VLS-grown ultra-long ZnS nanowires prepared by CVD method

AbstractThe synthesis of ultra-long high-quality zinc sulfide (ZnS) nanowires of uniform size on heterogeneous substrates is highly desirable for investigating the fundamental properties of ZnS nanowires and for fabricating integrated functional nanodevices. The present study developed a novel technique for growing ultra-long ZnS nanowires on thin-catalyst-coated substrates. ZnS nanowires were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition […]

Butterfly-like phase shift: a novel gauge for critical coupling of add–drop resonator

AbstractOptical transfer function for add–drop resonator is derived in the presence of coupling loss using the scattering matrix method. A critical coupling condition for ADR is calculated. The response of the ADR under variation of coupling losses and coupling coefficients is studied. The number of allowed states under the critical condition is determined. The full […]

Enhanced physical properties of the anodic TiO2 nanotubes via proper anodization time

AbstractVertically aligned titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotubes were synthesized by electrochemical anodic oxidation in an electrolyte solution containing 0.45 wt% ammonium fluoride (NH4F) and 2 vol% deionized water at constant potential (70 V) for various anodization time at the room temperature. The influence of the anodization time on the morphology and optical properties of the anodic TiO2 nanotubes have […]

Impedance spectroscopy and conductivity studies of KCl-doped solid electrolyte

Abstract(CuCl)4−2x−(KCl)x–CdCl2, x = 0.0–0.4 solid electrolytes were grown via solid-state reaction procedure by suitable heat treatment. An AC impedance spectroscopy suggested that the ionic conductivity mainly arisen from grain effect. A DC electrical conductivity of 3.94 × 10−5 Scm−1 was measured for the x = 0.3 composition at 320 °C. This also shows lowest activation energy in the temperature range of 293–593 K. This […]

Thermodynamics of nonlinearly charged black holes in the Brans–Dicke modified gravity theory

AbstractIn this work, the charged black hole solution to the Brans–Dicke gravity theory in the presence of the nonlinear electrodynamics has been investigated. To simplify the field equations, a conformal transformation has been introduced which transforms the Brans–Dicke–Born–Infeld Lagrangian to that of Einstein-dilaton–Born–Infeld theory. A new class of (n+1)documentclass[12pt]{minimal} usepackage{amsmath} usepackage{wasysym} usepackage{amsfonts} usepackage{amssymb} usepackage{amsbsy} usepackage{mathrsfs} […]

Medical equipment bio-capability processes using the atmospheric plasma-sprayed titanium coating

AbstractAntibacterial surfaces such as titanium coatings are able to have capability in the human body environment. In this study, titanium coatings are deposited on the 316 stainless steel substrates by a handmade plasma spray system. Some mechanical, chemical properties and microstructure of the created titanium layer are determined to evaluate the quality of coating. The […]

Theoretical and experimental investigation of the magnetic properties of polyvinylidene fluoride and magnetite nanoparticles-based nanocomposites

AbstractIn the present study, the effect of size distribution of magnetite nanoparticles in a PVDF matrix on the magnetic properties of PVDF + Fe3O4 nanocomposites was experimentally and theoretically investigated. The size distribution of nanoparticles in polymer matrix and morphology of the nanocomposites were studied by the means of scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. It […]
