An efficient green synthesis of some new 4H-pyrimido[2,1,b]benzimiazoles and 4H-pyrimido[2,1,b]benzothiazoles promoted by guanidinium chloride

A facile and highly efficient protocol was applied successfully to synthesize 4H-pyrimido[2,1,b]benzimiazoles and 4H-pyrimido[2,1,b]benzothiazoles through one-pot three-component cyclocondensation reactions of 2-aminobenzimidazole or 2-aminobenzothiazole with dimedone and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of guanidinium chloride under solvent-free conditions. The reactions using guanidinium chloride provided high to excellent yields of the products.  The key advantages of this […]

Surface modification of γ-alumina by NaNO2, NaNO3, HNO2, HNO3 and H2SO4: A DFT-D approach

In this study, the dissociative adsorption of NaNO2, NaNO3, HNO2, HNO3 and H2SO4 over (1 1 0) surface of γ-alumina non-spinel model were investigated through the dispersion corrected density functional theory (DFT-D) at PBE-D/DNP level of calculation. It was found that all of the species are dissociated to their ionic forms after adsorption and relaxation […]

An efficient and convenient synthesis of quinazoline derivatives catalyzed by cyanuric chloride in water

In this work, an eco-friendly procedure for the preparation of 2,3-dihydroquinazoline-4(1H)-ones was developed by condensation reaction of benzylic and heterocyclic aldehydes with 2-aminobenzamide in the presence of catalytic amounts of cyanuric chloride (2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazin) as an available and inexpensive organo-catalyst under aqueous media as a green conditions. The new compounds characterized by IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, Mass […]

Fast one-pot synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-decahydroacridine derivatives using sulfonic acid functionalized LUS-1 and the study on their antimicrobial activities

Mesoporous silica LUS-1 (Laval University Silica) was successfully functionalized by propyl sulfonic acid and was used as a recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of acridine-1,8-diones via a pseudo four component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, dimedone and ammonium acetate (or anilines). The excellent yields, short reaction time, simple work-up procedure, and environmentally friendly conditions are advantages […]

Photocatalytic degradation of phenylephrine hydrochloride in aqueous solutions by synthesized SnO2-doped ZnO nanophotocatalyst

ZnO and SnO2-doped ZnO nanoparticles were prepared by a sol–gel method for the first time. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the ZnO and SnO2-doped ZnO samples. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have proved very effective in treatment of the various hazardous organic pollutants such as surfactants and pharmaceuticals in […]

Review: Current development on catalytic synthesis and pharmacological applications of 1,4-dihydropyridines

1,4-Dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) are recognized as one of the most versatile pharmacophores present as central core in many pharmaceuticals. Low yield and harsh reaction conditions prompted the researchers for the development of new environmental- friendly methods for the synthesis of 1,4-DHPs. This review explored the development of various green chemistry approaches using new catalysts developed for […]

Synthesis of methyl 6-amino-5-cyano-4-aryl-2,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole-3-carboxylates using nanocrystalline ZnZr4(PO4)6 ceramics as an efficient catalyst

Nanocrystalline ZnZr4(PO4)6 ceramics as an efficient catalyst have been used for the preparation of methyl 6-amino-5-cyano-4-aryl-2,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole-3-carboxylates by the four component reaction of dimethylacetylenedicarboxylate, hydrazinehydrate, malononitrile and aromatic aldehydes in water at room temperature. In this research Nano-ZnZr4(PO4)6 coordinate with the active groups(particular C=O, C≡N and active H) thus increasing the activity of the groups. Also […]
