About the Journal

Progress in Biomaterials is a peer-reviewed open access journal. It is a multidisciplinary, English-language publication of original contributions and reviews concerning studies of the preparation, performance and evaluation of biomaterials; the chemical, physical, biological and mechanical behavior of materials both in vitro and in vivo in areas such as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, drug delivery and implants where biomaterials play a significant role.

This journal was established in 2012 and published by Springer Nature in collaboration with its owner, Islamic Azad University. As of the beginning of 2025, with Issue 1—Volume 14, the publication has been transferred to OICC Press in the UK.
