Abstract

Abstract Ternary NiCuZr layered double hydroxide (LDH)/MIL-101(Fe)-NH 2 (MOF), as a tetrametalic porous composite, was synthesized for the first time by an easy solution casting technique and assessed for catalytic photodegradation of methylene blue dye. The new photocatalyst was characterized by different procedures including PXRD, FTIR, SEM/EDS, UV–Vis DRS, and BET measurements. The photocatalyst activity was investigated under numerous conditions such as pH, amount of photocatalyst, and concentration of methylene blue. Under the optimum conditions, the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of the composite was > 98% after 10 min radiation that was greater than that of former solids. Quenching assessments showed that the holes (h + ) done a major effect on the degradation of the analyte under LED illumination.
