Abstract
Abstract In this review study, the effects of different nanoparticles on platelet function and survival, evaluated between 2010 and 2020, have been investigated. The results of these studies showed that among different nanoparticles, the results of functionalized chitosan and anionic dendrimer were more suitable so that chitosan functionalized with salicylic acid can be more effective in increasing platelet survival and improving its function. On the other hand, anionic dendrimers may be appropriate in this regard, but there are very few articles in this field and more studies are needed. Among metallic nanoparticles, it seems that functionalized gold nanoparticles in the proper size and concentration can be more effective than other nanoparticles for increasing survival and improving platelet function. Among non-metallic nanoparticles, single-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with polymeric nanoparticles are more suitable for increasing the survival and improving platelet function. Overall, the results of this study showed that polymer nanoparticles can have a bright future to increase platelet survival and improve platelet function due to their greater manipulability.
