Publisher Announcement: Introduction of Article Processing Charges (APCs) will apply for the new submissions starting 1st November 2025
We would like to inform all authors and contributors that, effective 1st October 2025, an Article Processing Charge (APC) will apply to all new manuscripts submitted on or after 01/11/2025 that are accepted for publication in the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics (JTAP).
The Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics (JTAP) operates under a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely and permanently available to readers worldwide. To support the costs of maintaining this open-access platform, including editorial management, peer review, production, hosting, indexing, and archiving, an APC will be charged upon acceptance of each article.
We remain committed to supporting researchers globally. APC waivers or discounts are available for authors from low- and middle-income countries, as well as for those experiencing financial hardship. Full details regarding eligibility and application procedures can be found on our APC policy Page.
This policy reflects our dedication to sustaining high-quality publishing services while promoting equitable access to scientific knowledge.

Appointment of Professor Seyedeh Mehri Hamidi as Editor-in-Chief Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics
It is with both deep respect and a sense of hopeful anticipation that we announce the appointment of Professor Seyedeh Mehri Hamidi as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics, following the sad passing of our esteemed colleague, Professor Davoud Dorranian.
Professor Hamidi succeeds Professor Dorranian and brings with her a distinguished background in theoretical and applied physics, alongside a notable record of academic excellence and editorial experience. Her leadership is expected to uphold the high standards set by her predecessor, while also fostering continued growth and innovation within the journal.
We extend our sincere condolences to Professor Dorranian’s family, friends, and colleagues, and express our full confidence in Professor Hamidi’s vision and dedication as she undertakes this significant role.

Professor Dorranian led the journal with exceptional integrity, insight, and dedication. Under his leadership, Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics grew in both reputation and academic impact, thanks to his unwavering commitment to scientific excellence and ethical publishing. His editorial vision and mentorship profoundly influenced the work of countless scholars and researchers.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Professor Dorranian will be remembered for his kindness, collegial spirit, and the respect he showed to all who worked with him.
