-NPs can be used as a new and efficient nano-catalyst for the promotion of the synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-octahydro xanthenes derivatives. The structures of the products were characterized by their physical properties, comparison with authentic samples and IR, 
1
H NMR and 
13
C NMR spectroscopy. Easy preparation of the catalyst, mild reaction conditions, easy work-up procedure, excellent yields and short reaction times are some of the advantages of this work.</Abstract>
