Appointment of Professor Seyedeh Mehri Hamidi as Editor-in-Chief Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics

It is with both deep respect and a sense of hopeful anticipation that we announce the appointment of Professor Seyedeh Mehri Hamidi as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics, following the sad passing of our esteemed colleague, Professor Davoud Dorranian.

Professor Hamidi succeeds Professor Dorranian and brings with her a distinguished background in theoretical and applied physics, alongside a notable record of academic excellence and editorial experience. Her leadership is expected to uphold the high standards set by her predecessor, while also fostering continued growth and innovation within the journal.

We extend our sincere condolences to Professor Dorranian’s family, friends, and colleagues, and express our full confidence in Professor Hamidi’s vision and dedication as she undertakes this significant role.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Davoud Dorranian, our esteemed Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics, who passed away on 19th April 2025.

Professor Dorranian led the journal with exceptional integrity, insight, and dedication. Under his leadership, Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics grew in both reputation and academic impact, thanks to his unwavering commitment to scientific excellence and ethical publishing. His editorial vision and mentorship profoundly influenced the work of countless scholars and researchers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Professor Dorranian will be remembered for his kindness, collegial spirit, and the respect he showed to all who worked with him.
