Abstract

Since paying attention to the supply chain of agricultural products is one of the main needs of our country, this research was formed with the aim of the role of blockchain technology in reducing the transaction cost in the supply chain of agricultural products. In terms of purpose, practical; And in terms of data collection and analysis, it is an analytical and correlational research. First, by reviewing previous articles, the advantages and capabilities of blockchain are mentioned, and also by using comprehensive definitions of transaction costs, we can address the relationship between transaction costs and blockchain. Since one of the examples of transaction costs is the cost of concluding a contract and building trust for the parties to the transaction, blockchain can be a good platform for its realization, although official statistics of blockchain implementation in companies in Iran have not been published yet. There is no cost opinion, but the opinions of active managers in the field of agricultural supply chain and active unions were examined. Findings show that from the perspective of managers active in this sector, confidentiality, transparency, reduction of manual interventions, and consistency in blockchain platform inspection, lead to a reduction in transaction costs in the agricultural supply chain.
